Nissan XTrail Batteries
Your car's battery is the driving force behind starting your vehicle, and as such is imperative that you select the right battery and replace it regularly.
By providing an electrical current, your vehicle's battery allows your vehicle to start cranking the engine. Once the engine has started running, this process is then taken over by the alternator, freeing up the battery to power your accessories, such as the head unit, headlights, internal lighting, etc.
As you can see, these batteries are integral to your vehicle. So how often should you change them, and what should you look for if you think it might be time to change your battery?
Generally, your battery should last for at least 3 years. After this point, your battery will begin to wear down and become less efficient, however, if your vehicle and battery are well maintained, these can sometimes last upwards of 5 years.
As far as what we should look for to determine if you battery is in bad shape, the following are a good place to start:
-
- Struggling to start during winter
- Struggling to start, or taking a long time to tick over
- The battery light on your dash is on
